There was once a show called Revolution. And another called Scorpion.
Each had a great premise: a world after electricity, and what happens when you have a bunch of geniuses trying to work together on cool projects.
Each failed miserably [as art] almost immediately.
Why? Nothing new here. Network TV isn’t about high quality art. Sometimes that happens inadvertently, but usually it just has to be interesting enough to keep people watching the commercials.
Besides, people who appreciate real art may not be so enthused with all the car, fast food, sweatshop clothes and other materialism-obsessed capitalist elements.

The national casting call has been made for Big Brother Canada season 3. From today until November 24, 2014 – can apply online to be on the hit game show.
This is a big year for the show, as all previous years have aired on Shaw’s speciality channel, Slice, and next season they are moving to Shaw’s parent channel – Global. I would say this is the year you want to get cast.
So you can apply online at BigBrotherCanada.ca OR you can audition in person during the open casting calls. The casting calls will be held at the following locations starting in October:
Vancouver, British Columbia – Sunday, October 19
Calgary, Alberta – Sunday, October 19
Regina, Saskatchewan – Friday, October 24 (OMG – WILL THEY FINALLY CAST SOMEONE FROM THE PRAIRIES?!?!)
